Mayor Tom Tait
top of that list is the Anaheim Neighborhood Association. Your early endorsement and grass
roots word of mouth campaign was instrumental to our victory. Thank you.

For Anaheim to be a great city, we must have great neighborhoods. That's an obvious
statement. The primary role of the city is to ensure public safety and civic upkeep. In other
words...keep our neighborhoods clean, well maintained and safe. As your Mayor, I will
work hard to make sure that happens. To have truly great neighborhoods, it’s up to all of
us to come together to make our neighborhood a community, and that entails looking out
for and helping one another. In a word...kindness. Kindness means more than just being
nice. It means doing something affirmative to help someone else. In a time of high
unemployment and shrinking city budgets, neighbors helping neighbors is essential. To
paraphrase the words of a great President, Ask not what your community can do for you,
ask what you can do for your community. So many in our City already live by this motto. But, we all must try to do more.

One benefit of running for elected office is I had the opportunity to knock on doors and talk to a lot of people. There are
many who are somewhat isolated and alone. Reaching out to connect with one of these neighbors would be a wonderful
act of kindness and would strengthen the neighborhood in ways City Hall never could.  Citizens are in a unique position
to identify and understand neighborhood issues and how to address them. City government must recognize and
respond to the needs of its citizens.  Working together we can accomplish a great deal for Anaheim, it's neighborhoods,
businesses, and residents.
