City Council in 2008 and then had the confidence in me as a candidate to do it again this

Thanks to the members of ANA, SOAR and Anaheim Chamber for all their support.

I will be representing all the neighborhoods of Anaheim on the City Council.  Every resident
of our city deserves to live in a neighborhood they can be proud of.  The quality of life
experience in Anaheim should be at least as high or higher than any of the surrounding cities.

One of my goals for our city will be to make sure our neighborhoods match that of our world
class tourist destination in character and quality.  The diversity of our neighborhoods, our businesses and our residents
is one of the things that truly makes Anaheim unique.  I would like to build on that strength and will be looking for and
expecting neighborhood leaders to join me in that effort.

Bringing new diverse businesses to our community is one of the essential keys to helping put more Anaheim people back
to work along with providing the revenue needed to reinvest in our neighborhoods.  For example: providing more
shopping opportunities like one or more Trader Joes in Anaheim will be a priority for me along with leveraging our city
services with the Chamber and existing businesses to entice new companies to locate in our city.

Throughout the campaign I continually met people who were passionate about certain issues and had ideas and energy
to offer.  That experience encourages me to want to open up City Hall to be a place that encourages average citizens to
become more involved.  With the possible use of ad hoc committees, those who have common concerns or share the
same passion could join forces to come up with ideas and solutions.  Five council members, even with the help of a great
professional staff, can’t possibly come up with all the answers.  So one of my goals will be to involve and encourage as
many people as possible to become engaged in the process with me and my fellow council members.
